You\u2019re juggling ideas, inspiration, and maybe even a little nervousness (totally normal, by the way).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a designer, I love making the creative part feel easy and collaborative\u2026 but the <em>prep work you do beforehand<\/em>? That\u2019s what sets us up for magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what to gather, clarify, and think through before we officially dive in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Get Clear on Your Goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before we talk color palettes or homepages, ask yourself:<br><strong>What do I want this brand or website to <\/strong><strong><em>do<\/em><\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few common goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attract more aligned clients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look more professional and trustworthy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show up consistently across platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get more inquiries or sales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feel proud to share your website or social links again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need a 10-page strategy doc. Gather Your Content (Don\u2019t Panic)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need perfectly polished copy yet (unless we\u2019re working with a copywriter), but it\u2019s super helpful to gather:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your existing bio or \u201cabout\u201d blurb<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any current services or pricing info<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Testimonials, FAQs, or client wins<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photos or brand visuals you already love (even if they\u2019re outdated, we\u2019ll use them as a reference!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not sure what to include? I\u2019ll send you a checklist based on your project scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Pinterest = Your Moodboard Friend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This part is fun. Start collecting visuals that <em>feel<\/em> like your brand. Not just logos or websites, but:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Colors that speak to you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fonts or design styles you\u2019re drawn to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photography or textures that match your vibe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspiration from outside your industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll use this to identify patterns and translate it into a cohesive, original design\u2026 no cookie-cutter vibes here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Make Space on Your Calendar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though I\u2019ll guide the process and handle the heavy lifting, brand and web projects are still collaborative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll need time to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give feedback at key points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review drafts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gather content or make small decisions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re in a super busy season, it\u2019s okay to wait until you can give the project a little more attention. That breathing room leads to better results (and way less stress).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Be Honest About What You <em>Don\u2019t<\/em> Like<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s just as helpful to know what you <em>don\u2019t<\/em> want as it is to know what you do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tell me if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You hate the color orange<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ve tried DIY branding and it didn\u2019t feel right<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ve worked with a designer before and it was overwhelming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more I know, the more I can tailor the process to fit your style\u2026 and avoid things that haven\u2019t worked for you in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TL;DR: Come As You Are (but With a Few Notes)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need to have it all figured out before we start.
